Qualifications & Experience

Hello!
My name is Chelsea, and I would love to be your tutor! I have 10 years of experience with 1-on-1 tutoring and group tutoring. I have also taught classes at CSU Northridge in English (college-level reading, writing, and analysis), business writing, and public speaking. I have also tutored for the basic math courses at the university. Additionally, I have worked with English-as-a-Second-Language students at LAVCC and am adept at working with students in this area.

In the last few years, I have worked with students from 4th grade to college. I am very familiar with high school materials and love to work with students on developing essays, speeches, and large projects. My experience as a high-school-aged troop leader in Girl Scouts offers me a large knowledge-base of local high school expectations and student needs.

In addition to my academic tutoring, I work with students on time management, organization, and college adjustment. As someone who navigated her BA in 3 years while working, I am well-versed in pushing through day-to-day homework, short-term study sessions, and long-term projects.

If you need help with your academic work or your general schooling, reach out!

Chelsea has been working with me on building organizational skills for college preparation. She is tough when I don't want to work, but she also is caring and points out that the reason she is pushing me to be on top of my work is because she wants me to succeed. I recommend her.

Chelsea was a fabulous tutor! She worked with my son for four years, taking him from elementary school into middle school. Since he has ADHD and Dyslexia, she had a lot on her plate to work with in terms of developing his academic interest and abilities. Chelsea is patient, caring, and determined. My son became a better reader, writer, listener, and overall student because of their work together. I highly recommend her for elementary and middle school students, English students, and students with special needs!

Chelsea worked with my kids on their homework for elementary, middle school, and high school. She was always willing to stay longer when needed, and if she didn't know something, she would look it up immediately to teach them. She's really good at English. She also got my kids through basic math to Algebra 1. Definitely recommend.

Chelsea is a very talented individual who is well-educated, well-spoken, and ready to take on the challenges of her students. Having experience of my own in the classroom and as a private tutor, I could not have asked for a stronger tutor. She will help your student grow to new heights. Highly recommend!
