I am a currently in the process of applying to medical school and will start the next chapter of my education in the Fall of 2017 at USC. As I prepared for this career, I have spent years teaching students in various contexts including as a Teaching Assistant and private teacher. I have taught in sciences including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as English Language and Literature. I am a native Spanish speaker and can also help with ESL students and/or with Spanish classes. Throughout my experiences, it has become clear to me that more often the not, the biggest barrier to learning is not the complexity of the material but rather the way it is presented. To this end, when tutoring students, I work towards understanding their learning strategies and presenting the material in a way that is more readily accessible. In this way, my students have mastered subjects they once considered confusing and even boring.
