I am a Doctor of Medicine (MD) by profession and I have been tutoring students the subjects of Math, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) for a total of 7 to 9 years on a part-time basis, depending on the subject. Also, for more than a year I have been tutoring French language (from beginner to high-intermediate level). My students range from high-school to postgraduate level.
Whenever I found time to teach students outside of my hectic work schedule, it was always a rewarding experience for me. As for my students, I give maximum input to make sure they are satisfied and walk away from a lesson with a new concept or strategy that they did not possess beforehand.
Tutoring for me is an interaction on a human level first and foremost. My purpose is to show the concept and solidify it, not to reiterate information which the student is perfectly capable of doing himself or herself. Another important point which I stress is increasing the motivation of a student by finding something that really interests the learner besides just the goal of passing the exam or fulfilling an objective. That way, it promotes long-term desire not just to learn, but to master the material. That philosophy is behind my every lesson or session.

Lev and I had tutoring sessions as a boost to prepare for my college Algebra exam. I had forgotten a lot of the information throughout the semester. He pointed me in the direction to study smart, not hard. We concentrated on key topics which were very high-yeild on the exam itself. I really improved my score compared to my mid-term exam! The tuition was productive and to the point. I would recommend Lev to any potential algebra student.a year ago
I needed a private tutor help for my daughter before her high-school French exam. And I wanted a tutor who really knew how to break down difficult grammar terms and tenses to a high-school kid in a language and approach that they could understand. Lev used amazing analogies, sometimes simple, but understandable mnemonics that my daughter really retained in her memory and was able to continue with that knowledge in her other French course! I am very grateful for his help and highly recommend him.a year ago
