I am a Physics B.S. Alumnus of UCSC who finished working on research into dark matter with neural nets. I transferred from Diablo Valley College (DVC, a community college) in 2018.
While I was there I was a strong promoter and advertiser for the MESA program and tutored with the chemistry lab, MESA students, and the satellite campus’ tutoring lab.
My approach, which aims to both fix the issues in understanding, and instill confidence in my students, has proven to have a 94% success rate, with average grade improvement of 18% points.
Only one student in 6 years of tutoring has experienced insufficient success, which he himself accredited to lack of any understanding on the prior class’ material and only 3 weeks of tutoring.
I appreciate knowing how much a student improves with me and greatly desire feedback so I can improve my tutoring and tailor the experience to the individual. I will probably start by asking you how you study, etc. (don’t be afraid to say you don’t if that’s the case!) so I can understand how you best learn and aim to teach in that manner.
I look forward to working with you, and hope to help you succeed!
