I have a Bachelor's degree in International Studies with a minor in Politics from Universidad Metropolitana, an accredited university in Venezuela. I also completed a Masters degree in World Cultures and Literatures at the University of Houston. I speak English and French fluently and I'm native in Spanish.
While pursuing my Masters degree I took "Introduction to Spanish Linguistics" and "Spanish Phonology". This increased my interest in teaching Spanish which I began doing at the University of Houston. I had my own class of approximately eight students completing their minors in Spanish. After graduating in 2012, I continued tutoring Spanish privately. I currently also work as a Spanish tutor for Varsity Tutors since May 2016. I have students from all professions like oil & gas, financing, law and medical fields as well as school students from all ages including those in college.
I've always enjoyed teaching as a representation of knowledge transfer. Languages have become my specialty and my passion after being exposed from an early age to multicultural environments in schools and later on in workplaces. I'm excited that Spanish has become increasingly needed in the world since I have a greater opportunity to meet people and help them succeed.
I also consider that I could benefit you by bringing my attention to detail, emphasis on pronunciation, and positive reinforcement during tutoring sessions. I believe that creating a base through Spanish grammar is important, nonetheless, I like to make learning Spanish fun and easier to digest so that you will look forward to our lessons!
