Hello! My name is Rosemarie, and I’d like to tell you a little bit about what led me to education, and my journey as a teacher. When my own children were young, I strove to find the best ways to support their development. Somewhere along that journey, I found I had an affinity toward not only teaching my own children, but other children as well.
I graduated with a B.S. in Curriculum and Development, and a Masters of Education with a specialization in early childhood. I am Texas certified in English as a Second Language, Early Childhood, and Elementary Education. I have spent over 20 years in the classroom teaching early childhood, elementary, and middle school students. I taught Beginning and Academic reading to at-risk students. Currently I am teaching English as a foreign language to students online.
I have developed an innovative virtual study and real-time English language and literacy program designed specifically for young learners. The program focuses on (1) oral language development, (2) phonemic and phonological awareness, and (3) upper-and lowercase letter shapes, names, and corresponding sounds. English language and literacy learning is supported by developmentally appropriate methods, including rhymes, songs, and word games.
I have successfully fostered excitement, discovery, and self-confidence in all children I have taught. With all this in mind, I invite you to come visit me in my virtual classroom.
