I am currently a student at Temple University, where I am pursuing degrees in English and Spanish. I have extensive experience as a tutor, most notably with City Year, the international non-profit specializing in providing assistance to under-resourced students. I was posted in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I worked predominantly with high schoolers in algebra and geometry; I also spent time with students of lower grade levels working on a number of different subjects. In short, my time as a CY Corps Member prepared me to work with a wide variety students from a diversity of backgrounds.
On top of the time I spent in Baton Rouge, I also have experience working with intellectually disabled children through the Iowa City care provider, Mayor's Youth Empowerment Program. While at MYEP, it was my job to craft lesson plans to help my clients reach state-mandated progress goals. This experience expanded even more broadly the number of different types of students I'm capable of working with.
I'm available to tutor students in STEM, Math (geometry or algebra), or any number of elementary subjects. I'm also available to tutor students for the SAT in critical reading, for which I received a perfect score of 800. Feel free to reach out for a copy of my resume, or to inquire further about my past experience.
