About Alex

Hi, I'm Alex! I have played the trumpet for over eleven years and have played piano since I was a child. While training to be a licensed Ohio public school music teacher, I have earned straight A's in music theory and composition classes from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University. My compositions have been performed in concert by the CWRU Jazz Ensemble and CWRU Symphonic Wind Band. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's in Trumpet Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I have experience playing in professional orchestras as a soloist and section player, as well as numerous freelance gigs in the Cleveland and Cincinnati area. I also studied piano for five years as a child and three years during college at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Regardless of your age, experience, or walk of life, I want to help you reach your goals and discover your musical voice. I have taught many ages from toddlers to senior citizens. I believe against a "one size fits all" approach to teaching, but rather in helping people connect to music in their own personal ways. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss how we can work together.
