The best manner of teaching involves simplifying complicated concepts and doing so in a fun, engaging manner. As a student, I was smart but often disinterested. I always hated boring lessons because I would often disengage from them. Thus, keeping that understanding at the forefront of my teaching philosophy, I have excelled in my field because I try to avoid having my students feel the same way. I believe is building a rapport with students and I incorporate a lot of analogy, comparison, humor, deconstruction and simplification into my approach as I find them to be key tools by which people can learn fast and easy. I have had tremendous success in my career, not only as a teacher but later as a curriculum specialist, instructional coach and program designer- and I have worked with clients from around the world. What has granted me such wonderful opportunities is my approach to learning and my understanding that, beyond all the fancy terms and all the lofty research, people learn best when they are interested and active. I believe anyone can learn with the right approach and I make it my mission to identify that approach for each individual I work with. After all, your success is my success.
