About Christina

Hi there, I'm Christina! I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, undergraduate coursework in Computer Science, and extensive graduate coursework in teaching methodologies and practice. I have been working with young people as a teacher/mentor/tutor for over 20 years. But, the restrictions of the classroom setting led me to leave the schools behind and become a private tutor, where I can give struggling students the individual attention they need to succeed. I'm a determined, yet patient tutor. My students are constantly amazed at how I'm able to help them be calm so they can focus more on LEARNING, and less on performing. They tell me they love the way I break the concepts and material down for them so that they truly do understand. Teaching and tutoring is my passion, and I love helping students realize they are indeed capable of learning and doing math!

Here are a few success stories/testimonials:

“Amazing! Very patient and made sure I thoroughly understood the material we went over during our lesson, also sent the notes from the lesson so I can reference my work. Definitely will recommend 10/10.” — Jessia B.

“Makes everything as clear as possible and will make sure your child understands what they are studying.” — Malachi L.

“I have known Christina for 4 years and was taught by her for 2 years. She was able to help me with math at the point when I was ready to give up. With her tutoring, I was able to pass many of my math exams and quizzes. Along with her making it fun and understandable when it comes problem-solving. If I had any troubles with a certain math problem she would be the first person I go to. She is a kind caring women and has patience with everything. She doesn't give up and is very determined to make sure her students understand the work.” (sic) — Monty E.

“I'm blessed to know Christina. She is amazing, and she has been since the day I met her. She actually used to teach and mentor me! I hated math, but she helped me to overcome my fear of it. I'd recommend her to anyone. She's kind, intelligent, patient, so helpful, and just a great person with a gift for teaching.”
— Angelica B.

“I found CMA Math tutoring when i was in Highschool, my old math teacher was one of the tutors. I was struggling with learning in a classroom setting and i benefited more from 1 on 1 teaching but i didn't really get that from the classroom. In about 2 weeks after using this program i recognized it was a lot easier to focus on the subjects being taught because of CMA Math tutoring. It was a very relaxing yet jam packed session of learning when it came to my after school sessions with CMA Math tutoring. As a result of using their program i was able to pass my NYS Algebra 1 Regents with flying colors and i was able to use that score to easily get into my school City Tech.” (sic) — Emanuel N.
