Prior to working as a substitute teacher for grades pre-k to twelfth, which I worked in the after school programs, I was a Language Assistant at CEIP Las Nava De Tolosa. This is a public co-ed school located in Madrid, Spain. In this role, I led instructional activities and developed teaching strategies that provided engaging content and enriched student academics. In addition to this role, I interned in Chile for an organization funded by the Department of Education, worked for a non-profit which supported initiatives for children in Bangladesh, India and Nepal, and was an integral member of the fundraising team for both American University and Arcadia University.
Currently, I serve with City Year, an AmeriCorps program. The purpose of this program is to improve students' grades in math and ELA and to lower the student dropout rate. This includes serving the students in the classroom, where all courses are Common Core Standards, and mentoring them during after school.
