I love literacy! I love it so much I studied English at the University of Rochester. I specialize in literacy development in areas of elementary and middle school ELA, Writing, and Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension. Furthermore, no two students study or learn the same, so I take the time to learn my students and their habits so I know how to direct and develop their study and learning habits.
My students' incremental progress, understanding and success are my top priorities. I am incredibly patient, compassionate, warm and seek to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable. All my sessions are tailored, engaging and have an element of mentorship. Learning is 80% of the battle; without developing grit and fostering intrinsic motivation in students tutoring is pointless. While I tutor, I also use real-world and relative-to-student examples so that they create deeper meanings and retain concepts.
English/Literacy is my heartfelt passion, so I consider it a joy making literacy exciting for children.
