Test Prep:
99th percentile SAT and ACT scores. I always let parents know that it's important that the student gets help at least one month before the test to get adequate practice. It's also worth noting that the SAT may be taken a few times as only the top scores count, so much isn't lost. I first assess the student's weaknesses and strengths with a practice test then continue to shape up their techniques with practice questions. Homework is seldom given because students don't end up doing it due to the workload from their own school. However it's important that the pupil is somewhat motivated by the idea of getting into a good college and understands that it takes dedication and discipline to achieve separable test scores.

Math:
Math prodigy (serious, ask me to multiply any two numbers together). Learning math is more about "doing" than "memorizing", which means students that just "take notes"(or don't pay attention in class hehe) can start to struggle. I usually bring a textbook of the subject in question's curriculum. It's best to go over present topics in the class and get the student to nail those instead of trying to "get ahead of the class" and teach the whole subject. It's then a matter of shaping up their studying tactics and reinforcing the tutoring with light homework assignments, eventually leading to better grades and test scores.
