Good morning, afternoon, and/or evening to you, whether you're a parent or student! I'm John and I'm a private tutor whose love of learning and tutoring has given me the absolutely amazing (and yes, lucky!) opportunity to have worked in a job I love with students from over NYC, NJ, and beyond for the past 7+ years of my career. I've been everywhere from working with homeschooled students in LI to test prep in Westchester to college physics review on the UWS. Not only has my success let me teach at incredibly prestigious summer prep programs at prestigious universities such as Princeton, Yale, and Hobart, but I've even been flown out to places like California to work programs at schools like UC Berkeley! I'm a tutor whose had the opportunity to work with students from all over, providing every student my absolute best whether its been through my work with students at Trinity, Horace Mann, Frish, Xavier Prep, Montclair Kimberly, Delbarton, and Stuyvesant, to citywide programs with schools in Paterson, Orange, Newark, NJ school districts as well as the Bronx and Harlem. I am a tutor who comes highly recommended from families and programs alike, even to the point where--when previously working for tutoring companies--I would often have different tutoring companies separately give my name as the first pick on their rosters for families shopping around for a tutor! Beyond all else, I remain committed to you as a student, parent, and as a learner. Education is a truly invigorating field to work in and I am absolutely proud of the work I do day in and day out with all of my students. I myself am a first generation student who graduated from Dartmouth College( someone who did not even know what the SAT was when I took it), that is now pursuing a fulfilling career in education as I continue my studies for a masters in Physics at Columbia. I absolutely love to find ways to have my students learn their content as efficiently as possible, whether it's creating overnight study guides for students, building my own worksheets and mini-textbooks, or even teaching myself how to read and write upside down (!) across kitchen tables in order to teach better during sessions! You can always feel free to reach out to me if any questions! I even have some of my recently great success stories below that you can check to see if I am the best fit for you! >> Recent Success Stories (!) << --March 10th SAT Student: After only 2 months of tutoring (8 sessions), a student broke their dream score (1400+) needed for their 1st choice on a 1st try! --February 10th ACT: Two Writing students scored 35 and 36 on their ACT Writing on 1st tries, with all 3 of that month's students breaking 30+ scores on their 1st tries! --Oct/Nov. 2017: After less than 2 months of tutoring for the TACHS, I got two close friends into their top choice (Dominica Academy in NYC), with one scoring the 91st percentile nationally on the exam and even receiving a full ride to their 2nd choice!
