I have been a teacher for 31 years - 9 years with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and 22 years in K - 4. I have a Bachelor's Degree in American Literature, and Masters Degrees in British and American Literature and Elementary Education. My New York teacher certifications are for Nursery through 6th grade and 7th - 12th for English. They are valid in 46 states, including Montana. I retired from teaching 2 years ago and moved to Kalispell. I have tutored reading, ELA, math, social studies, science, helped with reports and projects, and assisted students with homework privately for many years, with students ranging from 1st grade through 7th grade. As a teacher, I conducted many afterschool programs, ranging from extra help to athletic activities. Throughout my teaching career, I sought out and participated in many programs to further my knowledge and teaching abilities. I approach education in a fun way. The more fun a child has, the more he/she will learn and remember.
