Common Core and Elementary Math tutor

About Laura

I originally graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Marketing. I worked in the corporate world for a few years before ofollowing my passion of becoming a teacher. This is my fifth year as a certified teacher in Illinois.

I am currently employed as a 6th grade general subjects teacher, and I spent 4 years teaching 5th grade. I have experience working using Google Drive and Classroom for educational purposes, and I love incorporating research and technology into the classroom.

In addition to teaching, I also tutor Math four afternoons a week in my school district. What I love about tutoring is the one-on-one experience with each student. I love being able to challenge students to push them above and beyond what they ever expected to achieve.

I have experience tutoring Math four nights a week in my school district. I have five years of experience teaching the Common Core Standards to intermediate grades. I enjoy utilizing a variety of skill building techniques such as projects and novels.

I have been implementing the Common Core Standards since the start of my teaching career. I am very familiar with the standards and how they make a stronger and more curious student.

I have five years of experience teaching 5th and 6th grade. I would love to answer any additional questions you may have about my experience or techniques for tutoring. I am available most evenings and a few hours on the weekends.
