About Lea

I am an Illinois certified special education teacher with 12 years of experience teaching all core subjects in grades K-8 in Chicago Public Schools. I have worked with students with and without diagnosed disabilities. I specialize in math and reading instruction, and have 60 hours of training in the Orton-Gillingham Method, a multi-sensory reading and writing program designed for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. I am currently a math and reading tutor and ADHD coach for a 7th grade student. I am also passionate about teaching science and social studies, and enjoy teaching students across a range of ages and skill levels.
