I have a Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Journalism with a History Minor. My tutoring experience dates back to my time in High School when I would help my friends and classmates who were struggling with their history classes. I continued tutoring in college through a program that helped my classmates who were also student-athletes at the University of Illinois. I pride myself on my ability to a effectively communicate concepts and lessons that individuals struggle with. It is crucial to have an individualized tutoring plan, since everyone does not learn the same way. I never want to overwhelm anyone while tutoring. My goal is to build a strong foundation in the respective subject that is being studied, and work towards a mastery of concepts or skills. The lightbulb or "aha!" moment is my favorite part about tutoring. Seeing someone increase their passion and love of learning is a truly special occasion.
