I am Talisha Landrum. I am a 42 year old African-American female and English is my Native Language. I am a California native, where speaking Spanish is second nature. I have been teaching middle and high school Spanish and Spanish Native Speakers (ESL) in both California and Georgia in public school settings for the past 20 years. I often use TPR techniques in lessons for lower level classes to enhance learning and ensure student comprehension while keeping instruction in the target language. I am not a native Spanish speaker so I am able to predict the major grammar, syntax and pronunciation challenges students may face.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Spanish from Spelman College and a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Cross Cultural Education from National University. I taught English to non-native speakers when I studied in the Dominican Republic as a study abroad student. I have also taught English to elementary school aged children who live in China via an online platform. I absolutely love the enthusiasm of the students and I find innovative ways to make learning enjoyable for my students.
