About Carl

Hello. My name is Carl. I was born and raised in the state of Illinois, but now live in Georgia. From as early as my childhood years, I have always had a fascination for other cultures and other languages. The difference in the form and approach to expression. The beautiful uniqueness in the tones and textures that are heard when they are spoken. In fact, this marvel and fascination that I've felt has motivated me to learn other languages at various points in my life. My first attempt at language learning was Japanese, and later Mandarin Chinese. The French language is a profoundly rich and enchanting one to listen to. Currently I am bilingual, capable of communicating in both English and Spanish. I have traveled to Mexico and Ecuador and have plans of traveling to Spain. My wife of 15 years is a native of Veracruz, Mexico, and Spanish is the principal and predominant language spoken between us. I have been active in the Spanish-speaking community for over 10 years and have served as an Interpreter and Translator and Instructor for the last 5 years. I am a TESOL-certified Instructor that loves the joy of achievement in the teaching/learning process. I employ a very individualized and colorful approach to instruction. One that is designed to stimulate comprehension, and increase retention and recall. While my area of expertise is more inclined toward building the bridge between Spanish and English, my heart is open to help all those (anyone of any culture) that desire to learn or improve their English. I am willing and able to accommodate whatever tutor setting you need, whether public or private, by phone, or over the internet. I hope to have the honor of hearing from you soon!
