About Jessica

I consider myself a qualified expert in teaching English as a Second Language, Accent Reduction, Business English, Writing Cultural Immersion and Career Coaching for Adults, College and High School Students. I have also coached many individuals over the years struggling with organization, executive function and ADD/ADHD & Dyslexia. I have helped many students organize themselves and execute study plans and schedules so they are able to pass their classes with amazing grades.

Additionally, I have 12+ years of experience working in a wide variety of situations and helping students reach their full potential so that they can succeed in business, school, life, and cultural situations. I have experience working with both adults, college students and teenagers in a wide variety of subjects. Over the past 12 years, I have had extensive experience working with children and their families. From January 2006 until May 2007, I taught students grades 3,4 and 5 how to read, write and speak Spanish at an inner-city school in Hartford, CT. I have volunteered over the years at Boys and Girls Clubs and have helped lead ESL, pronunciation, and Business English Classes for many businesses, non- profits and other charitable organizations.

All in all, My students always grow substantially from my work with them and they were able to speak proficiently by the end. These experiences gave me the chance to work with various individuals and populations and help them succeed. I am very well versed in this area and would be let down if my work didn't mean something to my students, make a difference and be well worth their time and energy every time we worked together.

Over the past several years, I have been hired by many great organizations to teach their employees and help them improve substantially with their Business English, conversational skills, confidence in the workplace and Fluency. Some of these clients included Social Security Administration, Food, and Drug Administration, T-mobile, and most recent clients from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and Pratt & Whitney, Hartford Health Care, HUGE, and Travelers.
I have also acted as a coach and mentor to a number of culturally diverse children, adults, and families. I have helped many of my students better adapt to the American culture, accent, and language

I have extensive experience working with a diverse group of children and adults who struggled with learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, speech impairments, and non-compliant behavior for over ten years.

I have gained extensive knowledge in the mental health arena through college and graduate courses, past internships and numerous volunteer opportunities. My skills in differentiated instruction, assistive technology, and multi-sensory lesson planning allow me to meet the needs of every student. I am able to help them formulate plans and gain their own skills and techniques to succeed on their own so they can work independently. My experience has taught me the value that patience, encouragement, and confidence has on one's success. For my younger students, I believe there must be constant and consistent contact with my students family members, teachers and any other specialists involved in order for things to reinforced and learned.

I have truly appreciated and learned from every company, child, teenager, adult and family that I have worked with over the years; I cannot imagine having any other job or no making a significant difference in someone's life. I have attended numerous workshops, learned many stress-management techniques such as yoga, meditation, relaxation, and self-exploration, which I have found to be profoundly helpful as a way to better the students' concentration in and out of the classroom as well as decrease stress and anxiety.

My hope is that I can help my students learn how to better utilize their own problem-solving skills, tools, and techniques learned. My teaching style is tailored towards the individuals learning style and capabilities
