As a student I have realized that the classes I have enjoyed the most were not necessarily because of the topics I learned but how those topics were taught. The classes I have appreciated the most were taught by the most caring and approachable teachers. These teachers were patient, positive, encouraging, and were always willing to lend a helping hand. I try to bring this understanding to my tutoring approach. In my 3 years of experience as a tutor I have implemented this knowledge and have found that it works as it establishes more of a connection between the tutor and the student. This approach allows the students to do better in their classes!
