Hello everyone! My name is Louis Tamillow and I have tutored math, English, chemistry, and biology at Contra Costa College for 1 year and substitute taught grades K-12 for 2 years at the West Contra Costa Unified School District. Before that, I received a BA in Economics at the University of California Berkeley and a Master's Degree in Public Administration at Golden Gate University. I am most proficient at tutoring English, math, and economics. A bit of the methodology I use when tutoring is to actively listen to my students and look at their past and current work to identify where specifically they are having trouble and to focus on those problem areas. Rather than rotely go over the subject material, I find this method is much more engaging for students as they will do less mindless listening to information they may already know and more active engagement and discussion with the tutor. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy increasing the knowledge and abilities of others and look forward to working with new students.
