My training and experience in tutoring is focused on promoting critical and independent thinking about the problems the student is faced with. Too frequently, students looking for a tutor end up with another teacher that supplies more work. The student does not need another teacher and they definitely do not need more work.
I am an educated individual that will guide and support them through homework skills, finding their own learning process and reinforcing the executive functions that mean consistent future success.
Pre-algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, all levels of Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics are what I am most skilled with and I am capable of teaching these subjects to fill in any gaps in the student's understanding. My strategies for teaching strong problem solving also apply to most other subjects in Science, especially Physics and Chemistry.
