Hello! My name is Shelby and I am a CSUN graduate. During my time at CSUN I majored in Deaf Studies and completed a two year American Sign Language Interpreting Education Program. Beginning my freshman year of college, I started working for CSUN student housing as an Academic Mentor. As an Academic Mentor, my duty was to work as an in-house tutor for the students within the Deaf Studies major, this included, tutoring in ASL, Deaf Studies, and college level English. I had the privilege of tutoring college students for 3 years before graduating with my bachelors. Now, I work as an American Sign Language Interpreter in the community of San Diego, CA. I personally believe in tutoring students in a way that best fits their learning style and preferences. I hope to incorporate some fun and interactive activities into my tutoring that students can continue to use on their own for further practice.
