About Patrick

I have my AA in Mathematics from Merced College and my BA in Economics with minors in Mathematics and Statistics from Sacramento State. I am the William Randolph Hearst Scholar where I was recognized for my academics, service, and personal achievements. One of them included my job as a math tutor. I have been tutoring since 2010. I am currently an Instructional Aide at Arthur A. Benjamin Health Professions High School and a math teacher at Jade Love Kids Foundation.
There are students out there that need my help. I heard mathematics is not everybody's favorite as a result of understanding numbers in general. Working with students is a rewarding process because I was able to get to know them personally. I am going to continue on with this journey and hope to let students know that mathematics will become their important tool to achieve great success just like how I experience it.
I specialize in math (elementary math, prealgebra, beginning and intermediate algebra, precalculus, statistics), exam prep, economics, grammar, spelling, etc. I acknowledge students' learning styles in terms of what the assignment has asked them to do. Students ask me questions about the problems from the textbook and the study guide for the exam. I always provide my understanding and divide the homework into a series of steps so they will be able to finish the problems without too much trouble. At the same time, I am aware that some of the students have certain disabilities such as test anxiety and dyslexia, especially when they are struggling with the curriculum. As a math tutor, I am able to accommodate their needs when it comes to solving problems depending on if they are more audio or visual. I have been able to contribute on campus with my learning experience.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you excel in school.
