I enjoy encouraging children and young adults in their pursuit of academic achievement and creative endeavors. I have began as a elementary teachers assistant at 19 years old for LAUSD. I also worked after school in tutoring club for LA Best and Youth Services. IN 2005 I worked for Teachers on Reserve substituting at private schools from preschool up to 12th grade. I covered topics in math, history, Spanish and computer science. In addition, I served as camp counselor for Summer Discovery at camps for high school students for 2 summers. (Georgetown Univ and Univ of Michigan).
I simplify my approach to tutoring as that is the most efficient way to make things understandable. I cut out unnecessary jargon and overstated terms. I find most people want to go straight to the point and not complicate matters with oversaturated theories and definitions. I work to paraphrase rules/models/theories so that it is expressed in layman terms.
