I am a recent graduate from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a minor in Enterprise Information Systems. Throughout my college and high school years, I found that I learned best when working with a peer or mentor. Unlike college professors or older teachers, they would explain concepts in simple terms, avoid jargon and convoluted sentences, and use relatable examples to help me understand concepts. I strive to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach and will do everything I can to make learning and fun and rewarding experience!
I truly believe that stories are the best way to teach. My lesson plans typically begin with a fun introduction to the topic - maybe a story about how a word came to be, or an interesting article that emphasizes the importance of what we are learning today. I provide plenty of engaging examples that are current, relatable, and interesting. Finally, I always allow time for the student to practice the material on his/her own and to ask questions. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and the student's individual needs/preferences.
I scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Reading and a 780 on the SAT Writing in 2012. I have been to countless SAT tutors during my high school years, and I have amassed a number of SAT test-taking strategies that have worked for me and for many classmates.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about my qualifications or to schedule a lesson! I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses.
