Hi! My name is Derek and I have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University. I have 2 years of experience tutoring Los Angeles-area students K-12 and 6 years of experience as a professional engineer.
My approach toward tutoring incorporates math and science concepts in an easy-to-understand manner. I have a thorough grasp of these subjects at an advanced level which allows me to communicate complex ideas in simple ways. I strive to create fun, positive learning environments for students that allow them to truly understand math and science in a deeper way than just memorization.
My goal is to help students succeed by giving them the tools and confidence to tackle math and science problems on their own and to guide them through assignments and studying for tests.
