Hello! I have ten years experience with teaching, both in the classroom and one-on-one. I have successfully taught non-readers to read, those with a range of disabilities including cognitive and serious emotional problems to be successful at school in all subjects. I use a combination of direct instruction, Montessori technique and numerous research-based teaching strategies to make reading and math fun and relevant. I enjoy connecting with students and meeting them where they are in their learning struggle. I have a Masters in Special Education and thoroughly understand where and why learning can break down. I have just returned from Abu Dhabi to teach in California and look forward to helping the struggling student feel confident and successful.
