About Karina

Hello, my name is Karina. I graduated from USC with a bachelor's in Spanish and I have a master's in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction from CSUF. I recently finished my Multiple Subjects Credential preparation program as well. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring students of all grade levels (K-12) in various subjects and I have always seen academic improvement in all of the students I have tutored. I love helping students succeed in school! I believe that tailoring lessons to fit the needs of each student is very important for their success.

■ As a student teacher for a 4th Grade class, I wrote and taught lesson plans that aligned with the Common Core Standards and ELD standards for math, social studies, ELD, Response to Intervention (RTI), language arts, physical education and art.

■ As a tutor for Able Academics, I tutored four students in the following grades: Kindergarten, 4th grade, 6th grade, and 8th grade in Language Arts or Math depending on the preference of the parents.

■ As a tutor, I did one to one tutoring with students in all levels of math up to Calculus, science, and Spanish at the after school tutoring program at my high school.
