Hello!
My name is Jess. A little about my academic career, I graduated in the top 10 of my high school class, finished my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Nonviolence Studies in 3 years, and am currently finishing up my M.A. in Applied Cognitive Psychology with a Co-concentration in Evaluation. Needless to say, I enjoy learning. I want to help you enjoy your experience as a student by using what I know about human memory and thinking to tailor your learning experience. I believe that anyone can excel with the right guidance, honest communication, and elbow grease. I enjoy the challenge of trying to translate complex textbook jargon into language that makes sense.
Although psychology is my forte, I love math, especially statistics! I can be your helpful guide as we navigate through the weeds of math subjects like, Elementary Math, Algebra 1 or 2, Prealgebra, and Statistics. I also offer assistance in psychology, criminal justice, history, economics, biology, and research method courses. I can help you with your honors and AP courses or CAHSEE and ACT prep. We will collaborate on a plan to get you to your goal. There is no need that I can not accommodate.
I have experience working with individuals as young as 9 years old, working adults, and military veterans.
My personal interests include weightlifting, live concerts, art festivals, hiking, and keeping up-to-date on political events.
I look forward to connecting with you.
