I'm Garrett, and after finishing my master's degree in history at SDSU in 2011, I spent seven years teaching English in China (2012-2019) to students of all ages. I am TESOL certified to teach English abroad, and as part of my graduate studies, I studied Mandarin and was able to become quite fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the language while living in China. I worked in Jiangsu province, in both private and public schools, where I taught English to young learners, from pre-school age (3 years old) and up. I have also taught IELTS and TOEFL test prep to adults and teenagers. I am currently an ESL teacher in San Diego, where I mostly teach adults now, but I would love to find private students to tutor in my free time.
