I am an interdisciplinary scholar with extensive training and expertise in classical languages, literatures, and linguistics. I completed my PhD studies in classics at UCLA, where my area of interest was late antique social and religious history, reception studies, Latin literature (broadly speaking), and the intersection between text and material culture. I also hold bachelor's and master's degrees in history and classics from the University of Arizona, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
I have lived and worked abroad as a researcher and field archaeologist, first in Chianciano, Italy, where I supervised the excavation of an Augustan bath complex, and more recently at the American Academy in Rome.
While at UCLA, I served as the instructor of record for their intensive summer Latin program, as well as the year long introductory Latin sequence. I was also a teaching associate for classical mythology, Roman civilization, Greek civilization, and cinema and the ancient world, a reception studies course that explored the depiction of ancient Rome in modern cinema.
At the University of Arizona, while pursuing my master's degree, I taught introductory, intermediary, and honors Latin.
In total, I have over seven years' experience serving as a researcher, lecturer, and academic adviser.
I accept students at all levels - beginning, intermediate, and advanced - and I encourage you to get in touch if you are looking for assistance with any of the following subjects: Latin, ancient Greek, ancient Mediterranean history, archaeology, or academic writing.
I look forward to working with you!
