I formerly taught special education for 10 years and hold a Master's in Education from the University of Washington. I am an experienced educator who has worked with special education students of all ages in all subjects. I am a patient and compassionate person who provides students an opportunity to engage in learning. Teaching reading is a particular passion of mine and I love to see students grow in their reading abilities. In my teaching career, I worked predominately with students who struggled with emotional and behavioral issues, developmental delays, and autism. I have taught students from 2nd grade through high school and am certified in grades K-12. Additionally, I am highly qualified in English and Math. My greatest delight in the classroom setting was seeing students exceed expectations. I look forward to meeting you and your student soon!

Kristi taught in a program for kids with behavior challenges -- she always focused on their academic progress (despite their behaviors) and differentiated all her lessons for her classes with such a broad spectrum of learners.a month ago
Kristi helped my daughter in so many ways but was especially helpful in keeping her organized and accountable for her work. She was always positive and pleasant and my daughter was able to learn some skills she still uses to keep on track. She was a lifesaver and my daughter grades greatly improved.a month ago
Kristi is a hard worker and prepares and plans thorough lessons. She takes into consideration the needs of the child to plan those lessons. She is very knowledgeable and if she doesn't know the answer, she'll find a way to figure it out.2,019 years ago
