About Sarah

I'm passionate about learning and want to help you be too. I am all about making sure you understand the fundamentals because that makes learning the rest easy! I have successfully brought up SAT scores and helped students turn Fs into As, primarily in calculus (AKA my favorite subject to tutor)!

Although my major is Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with an emphasis in Marketing Management, Anthropology and Psychology, I have taken extensive math courses including Calculus II, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. I do not believe math is something people are inherently good at, and I also believe few people are good at teaching it, I am one of those few. Math is a skill that needs practice and compassion. I regularly watch Khan Academy videos and perform their practice problems to make sure I keep my skills sharp for tutoring.

If math can be considered one of my extracurricular hobbies, art can be considered another. I frequent galleries and museums and study art history in my spare time. There is a lost art in finding a balance between academics and artistry, something many ancient philosophers, scholars and inventors understood. De Vinci, known for his stunning art, considered himself an inventor who made commissioned portraits. René Descartes was a french philosopher who developed the cartesian coordinate system, if you are unfamiliar with the system I would love to tutor you in Geometry!

My method of tutoring does not require intense memorization, unless that is what works for you. My ideology is to help you truly understand the material so you can test with confidence and enhance your skill set from the ground up. I want to help you connect the dots between subjects that appear outwardly individual, but are in fact all small parts of a whole. Through practice, fundamentals overview, and the occasional amusing allegory, I will help you be the best student you can be,
