My passion is to teach. I have had fifteen years of music instruction, and nearly three years of English tutoring experience. I have my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in creative writing, a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society, a two time annual Dean's List recipient.
As a writer, I have been published nationally in Crab Creek Review, Malpais Review, Crack The Spine, Fly South, and Calliope, was the recipient of the Joan Grayston Poetry Prize in 2016, and a featured reader at Easy Speak poetry series.
In addition to my studies in poetry and creative writing, I am a professional touring and recording musician. I have toured extensively throughout the United States, Central America, and Asia, and was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship in 2009 to tour the Republic of Georgia, playing music for refugees of the Georgian-Russian war. I have recorded over twenty-five records with fifteen different artists and shared the stage with musicians such as Bela Fleck, Jethro Tull, Spearhead, Medeski Martin and Wood, and many others. In 2004 my band, Hanuman, was named best instrumental band of Seattle by the Seattle Weekly.
