I have experience tutoring English both on my own and at a tutoring center. I prepare each lesson beforehand for students, so we can make the most of our time together while in a session.
I have access to many tools that educators use in schools to help with reading comprehension and writing. I also normally do a long-term project with my students which consists of reading a book together and constructing essays throughout the reading process to help prepare students for what will be asked of them in high school and college.
For test prep, I have opinions on which test prep books do what for the student and can make a recommendation once I know how a student learns and studies. I have experience tutoring the English portions of the SSAT, CoGAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams.
I also love to help students prepare for school essays and English tests using materials that are not provided to them in their class.
