I am a rising senior at the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education. I am enrolled in the 5 year Master's program working towards my Bachelor's Degree in Youth and Social Innovation and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I have 10 years of babysitting experience, where many jobs involved help with homework in a variety of subjects. I also have been a reading tutor for three years at local elementary schools and have volunteered at the Boys and Girl's club in Charlottesville for the past year. There, I enjoyed helping with their Power Hour, which is a section of time where the kids work on their homework and independent reading time. Many of the students I worked with their did not speak fluent english, so I got to navigate helping them learn a new language while still communicating in their native language.
