Nice to meet you!
My name is Colton, and I have a diverse body of tutoring and teaching experience, in both individual and group settings. After graduating in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology (Cum Laude), I joined the military as a Mental Health Specialist, where I worked as a teacher, mentor, and counselor with over 100 students, colleagues, and patients. My knowledge of Psychology and Mental Health informs my teaching method, which focuses on utilizing fundamental psychological principles of learning, attention, motivation, and comprehension. Rote memorization never works. Learning is a SKILL that must be developed, and I can't wait to help you!
I am most skilled in the following subject areas: Verbal Reasoning/Comprehension (SAT, ACT, Reading, Writing), SAT Prep, Psychology, Writing methods, Public Speaking, Life-Coaching, ASVAB prep (Admission test for the Armed forces), Fitness training methods (aerobic, anaerobic, flexibility, and strength), Literature, Philosophy, Math (Algebra II and below), Study Methods, Memory training, and Speed-Reading. I have other areas of expertise, so feel free to explore the "Subject" portion of my profile to find out more!
Feel free to contact me at my personal cell phone or email address. I will be as responsive as humanly possible. I sincerely look forward to the privilege of assisting you in your learning endeavors!
