A little insight into who I am. I am a twin whom developed a twin language with my sister. My mother was told, don't worry about it, they will grow out of it. We did not. When we got into school no one could understand a word we were saying. I went through 10 years of speech therapy learning how to basically speak English. I was also dyslexic and dysgraphia no one knew until I was in the 6th grade because I was the weird kid no one could understand. My parents had a superintendent of special education tell them to just put me in a special ed class room and wait until I was old enough to drop out because I was unteachable. I never cried harder in my life. I decided at that moment I was going to prover her wrong. I graduated 2nd in my high school class. I went on to earn 5 degrees and that same lady ended up giving me my first job out of college. That same drive I had to prove her wrong is the same drive and passion I will have working with students whom need a little extra help or has been written off.
I have worked with children from the age of 3 to 15. I have worked with children that have no disabilities and ones that have disabilities that range from ADHD, Autism, RADS (attachment disorder), Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and hearing impaired. I do not have a set in stone why of teaching or working with kids. I like to customize the learning experience to the child however, that does not mean I am a push over. I believe staying on task is priority, however, breaks are necessary and are given based on the child's attention span and needs. I believe every child is teachable the key is to find what works for them.
I have a degree in Education. I started out in Jr. College as a music major. Before graduating I felt a calling to work with the deaf so I then went on to get a degree in Deaf Education. I followed that up with a masters in special education. I worked in the MS public school system for a few years until I relocated to MI and became an interpreter for the city. After my job was cut by the city, in MI, I went back to college and got a masters in Child Psychology.
I enjoy tutoring more than teaching in the school system because I like the one-on-one environment; however, I have tutored up to 3 children at a time.
I find that my Child Psy and Special Education degrees are very useful when working with all children but especially ones with special needs
My strengths are Language Arts, History, Social Studies, Geography, Science, and Composition at all learning levels. Math is my weakest.
As you can see I have spent many years learning at a higher education level. I like to learn. I like new things. I like helping others. I love sharing knowledge with others. Most of all though I love watching someone succeed.

Very happy with Mrs. Naufel, Khloe looks forward to her classes each week. We would highly recommend Teresa Naufel for a tutor.
Another Great lesson with Teresa, Khloe since her last lesson with Mrs. Naufel has actually read a couple of books in her reading app for school all on her own. Whenever she is finding herself with a few free minutes while the other children in her class finish up the work, Khloe asks lately if she could read. I feel as though Khloe is finally able to see that she can learn to read, she just needed to find the right person to help get her moving forward correctly. I think we have just found this person perhaps in Mrs. Teresa Naufel.
Teresa is very good with Khloe and seems to be able to keep Khloe interested in the work they are doing. I feel like this is going to be a wonderful learning experience for her. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a Tutor for their child contact Teresa Naufel.
We were matched with a new Tutor Teresa Naufel, our Granddaughter seems very comfortable with her. Teresa was very professional and understanding towards what our Granddaughter needs in order to improve going forward. I would definitely recommend Teresa to anyone whom is in need of a Tutor.
