Qualifications & Experience

Hello, my name is Rashid Ahmed. I am a medical student at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, IL. I am originally from Rhode Island. I decided to take a few years off from school to pursue my research interests in orthopedics at Brown University. During this time, I would like to continue one of my passions since I was in high school - tutoring! When I enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh as a Neuroscience and Chemistry major, I tutored students in Calculus, Physics, Physiology, and Organic Chemistry. During medical school, I was selected to become a Microbiology & Immunology tutor. In addition to tutoring students in classes, I have tutored students on college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT, as well as subject tests in math and science. Since I've worked for different companies in the past that prepare students for college, I'd be more than happy to provide references to show how successful my students have become. All of the students I tutored scored much high than their starting scores on the SAT and ACT, and a lot of them were offered scholarships. I taught each student differently, catering to their learning style and abilities. Not everyone learns the same way, but I feel it is imperative a tutor knows how to bridge the gaps and provide the necessary support and confidence a student needs to become successful not only in high school, but for college and beyond.
