Hi and thanks for visiting my profile! My name is Theresa and I am a graduate from Boston University with a bachelor's in Biology. During my college years I have taken science courses including General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and biological sciences ranging from Evolution to Microbiology. I've also taken part in specialized courses such as Carcinogenesis. In many of these courses, I earned grades ranging from 3.5 to 4.0. Furthermore, I have learned a lot about how to study for these topics and on what initially gives most students a difficult time. I'd love to guide you to discovering your potential to excel!
Apart from science courses, I also partook in the CORE Humanities/Social Sciences curriculum offered to freshman and sophomores at my university. These courses are intensive in their workload and expectations for literature comprehension and writing skills yet I greatly enjoyed them and excelled. The experiences I have will allow me to be the best tutor for students who would like assistance with their writing assignments and projects.
I am currently on my gap year prior to entering the New England College of Optometry. Recently, I have taken the Optometry Admissions Test which consisted of Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Physics as well as Quantitative Reasoning (Math) and Reading Comprehension. Through careful planning and hard work for three months these are the standard scores and percentiles I've reached:
Quantitative Reasoning (Math): 390 (96th percentile)
Reading Comprehension: 350 (71th percentile)
Biology: 380 (92nd percentile)
General Chemistry: 370 (87th percentile)
Organic Chemistry: 400 (99th percentile)
Physics: 370 (96th percentile)
Total Science: 400 (99th percentile)
Academic Average: 380 (98th percentile)
Furthermore, I've already put my tutoring skills to the test and learned from my successes and shortcomings as a tutor at the Codman Charter School for students in need of Math and English help.
