I started my first tutoring job when I was 16- middle school homework help. Since then, I've worked with students ranging from 3 years old to 18 years old. In addition to tutoring, I've taught creative writing, gardening, yoga, meditation, swim lessons, bicycle mechanics, and Hebrew.
Most of my teaching experience comes from working at Summer camps and being given the freedom to organize my skills into classes. Through this work, I've developed an ability to design lesson plans that can adapt to various learning styles (visual, auditory, sensory, musical, etc.) Working with such a wide range of ages, I've also been able to discover what teaching methods are appropriate for which age group.
What defines my teaching method is a penchant to instill the deeper values that inherently underlie the learning process. Yes, we're learning algebra, but we're also learning how to solve problems, how to stay focused and persistent even when we're feeling beaten, how to ask for help, and how to believe in oneself.
