I taught a senior writing course at Duquesne University and currently am a tutor for the school's athletic department, specializing in English, essay writing and ESL. Over a 20-year period, I have been associated with the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council in tutoring ESL clients, including a registered nurse from Japan, a Taiwan college student, and a Chinese college graduate. In addition, I tutored a Chinese nursing student through her undergraduate and professional courses and continue with her as she pursues her BS degree. In each case, student evaluations showed excellent progress.
I also conducted writing workshops for business personnel while managing my own technical writing/corporate advertising firm before going into semi-retirement in 2016.
