Hey there! My name is Aileen, and I am a recent graduate of Temple University. My major is Middle grades Education with a concentration in Mathematics and Science. I am certified in the state of PA and NJ to teach grades 4-8 in all subjects. In my many math and science courses, I focused not only learning the content, but how the professors delivered the material. Visuals only help, never hurt. Students and instructors working together to construct our math knowledge is the best way for students to retain what we learn together. No matter where your child is in the education career, or their confidence level, their perspective of analysis is what we need to refine for their continued success. Story-based problem solving opportunities help us connect our learned math skills to the real-world. Having our knowledge come from a more practical place, with the student as an active member in their learning, will lead to success and confidence-building that can last for years beyond our time together.

I have experience with personal tutoring and teaching full classrooms of 36 students. I have 9 years experience as a tutor, 3 years as a full-classroom instructor. I am very committed to interactive and engaging group activities, making my teaching experiences fun for both myself and my student. This my my teaching model from 4th to 12th grade. From 9th to 12th grade, I have worked in groups from 1 to 10. MY focus has always been mathematics and science. This is a list of the courses I have taught as a tutor and full-class instructor. Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, Biology (9th grade to Freshman college level), High School Chemistry, 8th grade Earth Science, middle grades Physical Science.

My hours are flexible, and I am willing to work with you family’s schedule. I am very open to taking direction advice, and resources from everyone who is invested in our students growth.
