With a strong history of working with students to improve and develop their English language and reading skills, I tutor students of all ages to build confidence and become stronger writers and readers. Online tutoring available. Please send me a message anytime to discuss your expectations and goals.
Rebecca has been tutoring and teaching students with varying abilities (including Honors/AP and learning disabled), and of all ages—K-12 through college and PhD levels—for over 7 years. Her degrees include a BA in English and an MFA in creative writing. She studied and practiced teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, which included extensive research of pedagogical theories, methods, and strategies. She has a strong history of working with students to improve and develop their English language and reading skills at public and private schools such as Sacred Heart University, Windham High School, Sweeney Elementary School, Sage Park Middle School, and other educational settings, both as a professional educator (adjunct English professor, writing tutor, and special education paraprofessional) and as a private academic tutor on HeyTutor.
An expert at quickly assessing the skill level of each student during one-on-one sessions, Rebecca takes care to provide a top-notch personalized approach that harnesses the individual's unique strengths and goals so they can begin to unlock their potential for success. Two big areas of focus include guiding the student to understand that writing is a process, and developing a system that engages the student's interests.
"Rebecca provided me with great resources for annotating and writing essays. She's also very responsive and gets back with feedback quickly."
