About Matthew

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Minor in Ethics) from Central Washington University. I began my degree in September of 2016 after high school and graduated in December of 2018. I was always a 3.5+ GPA student and I excelled in subject areas such as Psychology, Math, and Writing. Besides helping out my peers, the only tutoring experience I have was for a few months in 2018 working with a high school freshman doing Algebra 1. His grades improved, he found me very helpful, and we both enjoyed the experience. My approach to tutoring is fluid, but it tends to focus more on the student's questions and needs. While I am open to trying more individualized lessons, I prefer to focus on things like homework or specific concepts the student is struggling with. I am also happy to help students who need assistance with writing papers, since that is also something I am particularly good at. I would describe myself as positive, fun, honest, empathetic, helpful, nerdy, and relaxed.
