Throughout my life I have been committed to education. Through years of tutoring experience, I have become effective at creating a personalized learning environment directed at each student’s specific needs.
My background in tutoring began in high school, volunteering with elementary school students that struggled to meet literacy standards. In college I began working for a New York based company called Story2 as an Essay Advisor, helping students hone their college admission essays. This job gave me further exposure to the ways in which a student’s innate ability can be brought forth and enhanced through proper guidance.
As of the end of December, 2016 I hold a B.A. (Hons) in English from Brown University. More importantly, I am a young person with a passion for education. Through this passion, I have discovered it is delightful to witness the revelatory moment in which a student comes to grasp a problem or an idea. To achieve this, I draw upon tried-and-true as well as creative methods of teaching. These methods can be applied to a wide range of subjects, and I am always looking to expand my toolkit. Over the course of my life I have been intellectually enriched by tutors; be it getting specialized attention in an area I excelled in, or extra help understanding a subject I struggled with. I value education and the inquiry-based learning tutoring facilitates.
I am quite comfortable working as a tutor; I am an outgoing, easy, and patient person who listens in order to teach. I would be thrilled to help you realize your goals.
