Common Core and Elementary Math tutor

About Heather

I have a BA in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified in New York State in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Education, Birth-Grade 6. I have 20+ years experience as a teacher, substitute teacher, assistant teacher and tutor in NY, FL, NH and CT. My most recent experience was teaching several different grades in all subjects in the same NYC School in the Bronx for almost 10 years.
     
There was an after-school tutoring program at the school in the Bronx that consisted of small groups and I gave extra help in math and ELA. In NH, I tutored a girl going into fourth grade in math. I would love to have the opportunity to help my students become confident and thrive in their learning environment.
     
My passion is finding ways to help and motivate children to love learning and have fun while doing it. Seeing the impact my teaching has on a child's growth and seeing that student succeed and gain confidence is why I love teaching and tutoring.
